Tandoori Beef Tataki with 3 Herbs Roasted Pepper Salad

Roasted Pepper Salad:

  • 300 ml Grilled peppers cut in julienne
  • 80 ml   Olive oil and mirin
  • 1         Lime
  • 50 ml   Minced basil, oregano and coriander
  • 40 ml   Sesame oil

Tataki:

  • 400 g   Beef fillet
  • 300 ml Pineapple juice
  • 120 ml Tandoori sauce
  • 80 ml   Soy sauce
  • 240 ml Mirin
  • 80 ml   Mapple syrup
  • Sesame seeds
  • Minced herbs

Methods:

  • Mix together all the ingredients for the tataki and marinate for 48 hours.
  • Once marinated, drain the liquid from the mixture.
  • On high heat briskly brown the meat on all sides. Remove from heat immediately and let it cool.
  • In the meantime, prepare the roasted pepper salad.
  • Once the beef is cool, cut into 1/2 cm slices and place 5 slices of beef per person on each prepared plate of roasted pepper salad.
  • Drizzle with mirin, add salt and pepper to taste then garnish with sesame seeds and minced herbs.
