Auberge Le Pomerol Appears on the
First Ever Geotouristic Map-Guide

Montréal, Québec, July 31, 2009 - Québec Resorts and Country Inns is proud to announce that Montrealers have selected one of its members, Auberge Le Pomerol, as a favourite to appear on the world's first urban geotourism map-guide, created for the city of Montréal. Auberge Le Pomerol also received a Certificate of Excellence in Geotourism, presented by the National Geographic Society during the launch of the new geotourism map this past June 15.

Over 400 Montréal points of interest were nominated and then examined to determine those that best met the definition of geotourism. Only three hotels, including Auberge Le Pomerol, were chosen on the basis of the promotion of their business as a distinct and authentic local experience for local, national, and international guests.

Geotourism is a type of best practice tourism that sustains and enhances the geographical character of a destination, such as its environment, culture, beauty, heritage, or the well-being of its residents.

Auberge Le Pomerol joined our network this past February and we are overjoyed to see that its dynamism on the cultural level—with, among other things, its interesting package plan offers—has been recognized by consumers and by the prestigious National Geographic Society,” stated Ms. Sylvie Baril, General Director of the Québec Resorts and Country Inns network. “The Auberge Le Pomerol experience combines tranquillity and elegance with an exciting downtown ambience.”
