Artistes de Mont-Tremblant & Le Grand Lodge Launch Their Second Year Collaboration in Historic Barn
Mont-Tremblant, Québec - June 2008 - On Saturday June 28th from 5 to 7pm, Artistes de Mont-Tremblant and Le Grand Lodge, member of Québec Resorts and Country Inns, invite all for some wine and live entertainment to officially open the barn gallery/studio for the summer activities.
Set on the grounds of the Grand Lodge with a tall pine forest as backdrop, Les Artistes de Mont-Tremblant return to the barn converted into an exhibition – studio space, where the 10 artists of the highly acclaimed collective showcase their sculptures, oil paintings, watercolours and mixed media pieces to art aficionados of all levels throughout the summer months.
Following the success of last year's collaboration and outstanding response from the public, the exhibition will extend into the Grand Lodge. Original art works will adorn the entranceway and the 32 foot high stone fireplace of the impressive Scandinavian-style log hotel as well as the walls of the Hanley room at lake level.
Not only will visitors get to see artists at work in the barn, attend poetry readings and listen to live music but they can also participate in tam-tam workshops offered by renowned drummer Marcko The Owl Séguin on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30pm rain or shine.

“The group is a highly disciplined, organized and creative blend of people with multiple talents and resources to draw from,” explains Holly Friesen, Founder of Artistes de Mont-Tremblant. “Each artist is committed to working within the group so as to bring a greater awareness of the necessity of art within our everyday world. We want to bring Art back to the people where it belongs and to do this we need to work in collaboration and with the support of community members who value the role art plays in our society.”
“We couldn't be happier with our collaboration,” continues Michel Garnier, General Manager of Le Grand Lodge. “The mix of the old barn, the log structure of the hotel and the original art pieces, creates a stunning contrast of beauty and richness. There is an incredible wealth of talent in the region beyond what I could have imagined. Not only are we lucky to have them here at the Grand Lodge, but I am proud to showcase their works.”
