Members of the Québec Resorts & Country Inns network recognized as major players in the Québec tourism industry.
Several members of the Québec Resorts & Country Inns network were honored during the 19th “Gala des Grands Prix du tourisme québécois” held in Montréal on May 14. These awards recognize excellence in the Québec tourism industry, and once again, Québec Resorts establishments distinguished themselves.
In the lodging category,
Auberge Le Baluchon (Mauricie) won the
national GOLD award for establishments of 50 to 149 rooms, while
Auberge des 21 (Saguenay – Lac Saint-Jean) was the recipient of the
SILVER award for establishments of under 50 rooms.
The award for the
tourism personality of the year went to
Jean Cyr, owner of
Manoir des Érables (Montmagny). This award recognizes individuals who, through their leadership and dynamism, have made an exceptional contribution to the tourism industry.
Also, the
Association des Hôteliers du Québec named
Linda Gallant, owner of
Auberge des Gallant (Montérégie), their
2003 hotelier of the year, a distinction attributed by peers to mark one’s contribution to the advancement of the hotelier profession and overall commitment to the tourism industry. Ms. Gallant is the first woman to receive the award in 16 years.
Both Mr. Cyr and Ms. Gallant sit on the board of Québec Resorts & Country Inns. The former as outgoing Chair (1999-2003), and the latter as Executive Member and Treasurer since 2002.
For over 10 years, Québec Resorts has been home to inns and hotels from all over Québec -- 22 establishments selected according to the same high standards of comfort and quality. Québec Resorts is now considered a vacationing authority in the province, which speaks volumes about the brand of excellence guests can expect all across their network.
