Québec Resorts - Hôtellerie Champêtre welcomes a new member !
The Wakefield Mill Inn is a 26 room Country Inn located in the Gatineau Park, in the Outaouais region, just 25 minutes north of Ottawa/Hull. The Inn, which has just received a four star rating, opened in May 2001 after a $3.2 million conversion from an historic mill and museum, first constructed in 1838. The Wakefield Mill Inn brings a supplementary region to the network and its location will be ideal for travelers coming from Ontario, Québec and the United States. The Inn will enter in the Québec Resorts/Hôtellerie Champêtre “Inns” lodging category.
The five story structure features four-foot thick stone walls, open hearth fireplaces, and bedrooms and common areas constructed from all-wood grain silos. The Inn is perched on a 28 foot waterfall and enjoys dramatic vistas of the LaPeche River.
Open six months, the Inn has already received positive reviews and awards for its fine cuisine and getaway packages, which range from overnight steam train, ski, and romantic excursions. The Inn also accommodates corporate guests by featuring two conference rooms and Internet connection in all bedrooms.
