Montréal, Québec - Tuesday, June 12, 2007 - The Québec Resorts and Country Inns Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Sylvie Baril as General Manager of the network.
A graduate of the HEC Montréal school of business and the ITHQ Québec Tourism and Hotel Institute, Ms. Baril has been actively involved in developing the Québec tourism industry for over 20 years. She has a solid reputation and extensive experience in project and association management, sales development and marketing, and public relations. Ms. Baril looks forward to her new challenge: “I am excited to be able to contribute to this prestigious and very progressive network whose reputation is absolutely stellar!”
Dynamic, rigorous and creative, Ms. Baril has held several positions where she established strong ties with the tourism industry, the world of communications and the business community. After 10+ years as General Manager of Tourisme Granby, she assumed the sales and marketing management of two inns, Auberge Matawinie and Auberge du Lac Taureau (a Québec Resorts establishment). She then worked for Les Trois Tilleuls & Spa Givenchy. In early 2007, she opened her own management, sales and marketing consulting firm, which also specialized in e-commerce.
Québec Resorts and Country Inns is confident that Ms. Baril's arrival will enable the network to explore new avenues that will foster even more opportunities for member establishments. She took over as General Manager effective June 11, 2007.
